The Mehron MANover

Image
Move over makeover. There's a new over on the block - the MANover. Steven London from Conde Nast's The Scene has taken the male makeover to the next level. From color correcting to contouring, this makeup guru knows how to put his best face forward - and he's using some popular Mehron products to do it! Live streaming Monday's, Wednesdays, and Fridays on Facebook, Steven shares his know-how, along with a huge helping of humor. Demonstrating on himself, Steven shows The Scene's fans how to work a Mehron Boy look. In the video below he teaches a co-producer how to camouflage and even out undertones with Mehron's ProColorRing Neutralizer . Then it's all about the #KardashianKontour. Pulling out the  Celebré Pro-HD Cream Contour/Highlight Palette , which he calls a "life saver" and "little bible", Steven gets highlighting and contouring. "I'm using all of these products EVERYDAY!" said Steven. "Everyone keeps asking me abou...

With Our Sincere Thanks

Image
As our 90th year draws near, we look back with fond memories and extreme gratitude to all who have supported us throughout the last nine decades. Mehron would not be the company it is today without the love consistently shown by our customers and esteemed industry artists. Your belief in, and passion for, Mehron products has helped propel our success and transformation from an NYC Theatre District retailer to a Global Performance and Beauty makeup company. We also want to thank our partners, suppliers, and brand ambassadors who have embraced Mehron Makeup and assisted with our global expansion. Each and every one of you play a key role in our continuous innovation and growth, and we thank you. On behalf of the entire Mehron family, we wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. Martin Melik, President

Happy 25th Anniversary to Blue Man Group

Image
25 years ago a theatrical phenomenon arrived on the New York scene. Blue Man Group debuted at the Astor Place Theatre in Manhattan and has remained there for two and a half decades. These three men painted in blue with an incredibly unique, mind-bending act quickly took the world by storm - and Mehron was with them from the very first performance. One of the coolest parts of the act is that they are blue! The iconic makeup is custom made by Mehron. Drawing upon our strong roots in theatre and performance, we developed an bold blue that stays in place throughout the show - from intense drum beating and marshmallow shooting to the renown PVC playing. So much goes into transforming into a Blue Man. The getting bald and blue transformation starts with skin prep to make sure the face is clean for application. Next, theatrical glue is applied to the face and neck, followed by the bald cap. To keep the cap in place, more glue is applied, then powder is brushed on top to help the makeup glide...

A Colorful Makeup Show Chicago

Image
Last weekend the crowds blew into The Makeup Show Chicago. It was the show's biggest turnout in the windy city to date. Revel Fulton Market - a new location this year - was packed with thousands of industry pros looking to get their hands on the latest products and learn about the hottest trends. Mehron, along with leading artists, were on hand to share their know-how and favorite must haves. We were honored to have celebrity makeup artist James Vincent include Mehron's Metallic Powder among his favorite products during the show's blogger preview. As The Makeup Show's director of education and artistry, his nod means a lot. James wasn't the only artist spreading Mehron Love. We have to give a shout out to Orlando Santiago and Bethany Townes, both of whom featured our Celebré Pro HD Pressed Powder palettes in their pre-day classes. Mehron has always supported the artistic community, which includes seeking out and welcoming collaborative development and ideas. So we...

Mix It Up With Metallics

Image
So many of us automatically grab for the matte shadow as we get ready in the morning. We'll be the first to admit matte is the perfect go-to look for everyday. But, it can get monotonous. Break away from the everyday and mix it up with metallics. Warm, shimmery hues of gold, bronze, and copper are ideal for fall and winter - and they are flattering on every skin tone. A pop of silver to the inner corner of the eye can immediately brighten the face and add a touch of fun. Our ultra-fine Metallic Powders are available in all of these colors - at a price you will love. There are so many ways to incorporate these magical powders into your looks: Wash metallics on your lid for instant impact Create a fun twist on a traditional smoky eye Wing it out for a sparkly cat eye Smudge along the lash line for imperfect perfection Swipe on lips for a pretty pout Go bold in the brow Wear Metallic Powder on its own for subtle, sheer color or combine it with Mixing Liquid to create vibrant, opaqu...

Mehron Fans Rocked The Vote

Image
The presidential election wasn't the only vote being counted yesterday. It was also the last day to vote for your favorite 31 Days of Mehron Halloween artist. The people have spoken. A clear winner has been chosen. Congratulations to Melisa Morales Giraldo. Her mystical mermaid, which looked as if it had emerged from the dark depths of the ocean, was a clear fan favorite.  “My mermaid isn’t a common mermaid,” said Melisa. “It is real, it is a creature inspired of the black and deep ocean. A lonely creature fused by sea plants, this is not the cliché mermaid of your dreams.” To achieve a realistic look, Melisa relied on a host of popular Mehron special effects products: Paradise Makeup AQ (Pro Palette) Paradise AQ Glitter Paradise Makeup AQ Foam Applicator Liquid Latex Spirit Gum Wax Believe it or not, this talented artist didn’t start out studying makeup as a craft. While a business management student, she “happened” to pursue her artistic side. A family member who knew s...

Body Painting Hope for Psoriasis Sufferers

Image
To honor World Psoriasis Day three psoriatic disease bloggers agreed to have their bodies colorfully painted by Natalie Fletcher. Natalie, who won the first season of the Game Show Network's reality body painting show Skin Wars , knows first-hand the daily struggles of these bloggers and the other 125 million psoriasis suffers around the world. She also lives with the skin condition. So when it came time to create her amazing art, Natalie relied on Mehron's Paradise Makeup AQ . "It's my favorite and I feel it's the most gentle on the skin," said Natalie. "I even had my assistant mix all of my airbrush paint with Paradise." The bloggers were a bit nervous about whether they would have an adverse reaction to the paint, but Natalie reassured them that it was body safe and something she uses on her own psoriatic skin. They couldn't believe the product didn't irritate their psoriasis. Natalie teamed up with Novartis to illustrate the stories of th...

Photo Courtesy of Denise Hill How do you know when you’ve struck gold with your Halloween costume? When it goes completely viral! Denise Hill and her family became a media sensation with their golden trophy costumes. It all started with a single tweet by a family member. The photo quickly took on a life of its own. The tweet has received over 30,000 likes and more than 20,000 retweets. Media platforms took notice. Buzzfeed showcased the family declaring “We Can All Stop Trying Because This Family Just Won Halloween.” In addition to the social media flutter, they have been featured on their local ABC and Fox television stations and in The Kansas City Star . We’re thrilled that Mehron helped play a part in this sensational look.  Every year Ms. Hill plans out the costumes for her family and takes an annual Halloween portrait. Quite the planner, she usually has an idea in place well over a month before the holiday. This year, the Halloween snuck up on her. It was almost a month out and s...
