Mehron Fans Rocked The Vote

The presidential election wasn't the only vote being counted yesterday. It was also the last day to vote for your favorite 31 Days of Mehron Halloween artist. The people have spoken. A clear winner has been chosen. Congratulations to Melisa Morales Giraldo. Her mystical mermaid, which looked as if it had emerged from the dark depths of the ocean, was a clear fan favorite.

“My mermaid isn’t a common mermaid,” said Melisa. “It is real, it is a creature inspired of the black and deep ocean. A lonely creature fused by sea plants, this is not the cliché mermaid of your dreams.” To achieve a realistic look, Melisa relied on a host of popular Mehron special effects products:

Believe it or not, this talented artist didn’t start out studying makeup as a craft. While a business management student, she “happened” to pursue her artistic side. A family member who knew she was creative asked if Melisa could do her Halloween makeup. Melisa posted the look on social media and was hooked. She cast aside any business management aspirations and began studying makeup and graphic design. “I feel that I was meant to work with makeup. That’s my real passion,” said Melisa. Since her shift in career goals, she has taken courses in her home country of Columbia, as well as New York, Paris, and Orlando. “My interests are in social makeup, character FX, and airbrush; but, that is not a limit,” says Melisa. “I want to learn everything about makeup." Her openness to styles and techniques is founded upon her belief that makeup is not a limited possibility, that it can be as different as every human is.
