A Colorful Makeup Show Chicago
Last weekend the crowds blew into The Makeup Show Chicago. It was the show's biggest turnout in the windy city to date. Revel Fulton Market - a new location this year - was packed with thousands of industry pros looking to get their hands on the latest products and learn about the hottest trends. Mehron, along with leading artists, were on hand to share their know-how and favorite must haves. We were honored to have celebrity makeup artist James Vincent include Mehron's Metallic Powder among his favorite products during the show's blogger preview. As The Makeup Show's director of education and artistry, his nod means a lot. James wasn't the only artist spreading Mehron Love. We have to give a shout out to Orlando Santiago and Bethany Townes, both of whom featured our Celebré Pro HD Pressed Powder palettes in their pre-day classes.
Mehron has always supported the artistic community, which includes seeking out and welcoming collaborative development and ideas. So we are thrilled when artists love a product we develop and share that love with their followers and fans. "We often ask our customers how they heard of our products and what we hear most is through social media and education," said Mehron Creative Director Stephanie Koutikas. "It was wonderful to be at the show connecting with artists, attending amazing key not presentations, and learning more about trends within our industry."
The Mehron Team also shared tips and recommendations with attendees. MUA Megan Hill Luman taught our class Color Correcting Myths: How to Properly Use The Neutralizing Wheel. Working with our ProColorRing Neutralizer, Megan demonstrated how to choose the correct shade to neutralize a host of skin issues - breakouts, rosacea, sallow tones, and dark circles.
Megan's sharing of color knowledge was not limited to the seminar. She joined Mehron's Analise Ojeda at the booth for LOTS of color matching, one-on-one consulting of shade selections for Celebré Pro HD, and answering product questions. If booth sales are an indication of trends, you should definitely take note of Mixing Liquid and our two new Metallic Powder shades of Rose Gold and Lavender. Other popular sellers indicated love of shimmer, beautiful blendable coverage, and skin prep - Paradise AQ Glitter, Precious Gem Powder, Celebré Pro HD Highlight Contour palettes, Barrier Spray and Skin Prep Pro.
