Gearing Up for NYFW

New York Fashion Week is here and Mehron is once again in the spotlight. To kick off the highly anticipated festivities, New York Model Management created the amazing video below in which fashion and editorial MUA Raul Otero used Celebré Pro HD on all the models. We caught up with Raul to learn more about him, his inspirations, and the video.

Mehron: What inspired the look for the video?

Raul: When the team and I sat down to discuss the shoot, we had a common idea. We wanted all the girls to look luxurious and expensive with an effortless quality. I immediately thought of when a girl steps out of the shower and has this clean glow about her, which I think is very beautiful. So basically, I wanted all the girls to look fresh out of the shower.

Mehron: The fresh, dewy look of their skin definitely jumps out in the video. Why did you choose Celebré Pro HD to achieve that look?

Raul: I chose Celebré Pro HD as the main product for this shoot because I am absolutely in love with it. I love how the coverage is buildable, and the amazing natural "skin like finish" is superb. The color range is spot on, and it reads amazing on camera. It's a unique product. There aren't many products on the market that work well like this one. I mean the finish is the best finish I've see so far. I love the color range. As you can see in the video, the girls' skin tones raged from very fair to medium and dark. Very little product goes a long way and it's light enough for daily use. I'm obsessed with it.

Mehron: We are thrilled you like it so much! And we have to say we love how it looked on the models. Are you getting excited for NYFW?

Raul: Fashion week is always very exciting for me, especially this season since I am leading my first show and will also be working with different teams on others. It's just a crazy and hectic two weeks and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Mehron: It is definitely crazy, but an incredible experience for any makeup lover. How did you get your start as a makeup artist?

Raul: I got my start in the industry at a very early age. When I was 15, I was part of a community fashion group called FMG, short for Fashion Models Group. We scouted girls and trained them to become fashion models, and in the midst of all that I started working with local makeup artists assisting them on shows. Little by little I trained under the different artists, learning how to develop my own style. Luckily for me, my friends became very successful models and I would do their makeup, so they would refer me to designers and stylists and I began to build my career without even knowing it. I was very lucky.

Mehron: You may consider yourself lucky, but your talent definitely played a huge part in your success. Your talent is such an inspiration to us. What serves as inspiration for your creativity?

Raul: I get inspiration from different sources. Sometimes I'll be on the train on my way to work and see someone with a cool look on, or I'll listen to a song and get inspired. When it comes to editorial and fashion shoots, I always like to know who the character is, where is she going, and what type of makeup would she wear.  For red carpet, I get inspired by every girl individually. It all depends on the inner beauty. So, basically, I get inspired by everything around me lol.

Here are some behind the scenes photos and video from the New York Model Management video shoot.
