Exciting New Products
Two of our lines saw key expansions this year. Our Celebré Pro HD family grew with the addition of our 12-Color Pressed Powder Highlight Contour Palette. While our Celebré Pro HD Cream Foundation is recognized for providing a flawless, dewy complexion, we wanted to offer a powder palette option for those looking for a more matte finish. Just as buildable as the cream, you can apply this satin-smooth powder as light or as heavy as you like. The contact palette contains our most popular hues - all of which are:
Oil-free
Fragrance-free
Infused with soothing Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, and Pomegranate
Vegan
Not tested on animals
Metallic Powders have always been an industry staple. This year the Copper shade was a go to for Beyonce's Super Bowl half time performance. In 2016, we made them even hotter with our two new shades - Rose Gold and Lavender. Rose Gold offers a subtler, warmer way to shine. Straddling the cool and warm tones, this hue is universally flattering and feminine. Lavender lets you make a pretty statement with a pop of color and shimmer.
Collaboration with the One and Only Pat McGrath
Top international makeup artist Pat McGrath launched a new collection of metallics, which once again feature our coveted Mixing Liquid. The addition of our popular mixing medium opens the door to limitless creativity. "The Mehron Mixing Liquid gives you the ability to play with metalmorphasis005," says McGrath. "By wetting your brush and painting the product onto the skin it transforms the pigments into liquid metal allowing you to line the lids, eyebrows, and to paint the inner corner of the eye and/or the cupid's bow. Varying the amount of liquid that you add to the pigment allows you to create different effects from sheer shimmer to intense gleam." Pat McGrath fans love how this magic in a bottle beautifully transforms the precious metallic pigments into shimmery liquid, opaque color you just can't take your eyes off of. We are excited to be a part of the anticipated collection.
Recognition from Industry Leaders and Trendsetters
We are always honored when makeup industry leaders and trendsetters incorporate our products into their looks that are shared across social media, as well as when they are included in must have lists. Below are some of this year's stand-out call-outs.
Danessa Myricks traverses trends with her multi-dimensional makeup approaches. She simply stunned us with her "love letter to gold." To create the look she dusted Metallic Powder in Gold through the entire head and brushed it onto the borders of the face, then mixed Metallic Powder with Mixing Liquid and stippled the mixture through the face, hair, and body using a sponge. She painted the same mixture onto the neck and body, then placed gold and bronze leafing paper throughout the hair, face, and body. To complete the look, she applied the Metallic Powder and Mixing Liquid mixture with a detailing brush to create a splash pattern on the interior of the face and lip. "Mehron products have always been a spark to my creativity. They are highly pigmented and extremely versatile. Metallic Powder and Mixing Liquid together are like wonder twins. They create instant metallic magic!" says Danessa.
The signature drippy lip Vlada Haggerty created with our Rose Gold Metallic Powder is stunning. Vlada is renown for her lip looks. Just start googling her name and you will see "vlada haggerty lips" pop up in the search bar. Her signature drip, a social media favorite, is often imitated. When we saw the video of the gorgeous lips she created using Rose Gold Metallic Powder we were instantly in love - and it appears so too were the 11,000+ people who liked her Instagram post about it! "I love Mehron's Metallic Powders in general. They are finely milled and create beautiful custom lip shades. And this new shade is absolutely gorgeous as well," said Vlada. "It's a deep metallic color that has a hint of rose gold and looks amazing on camera."
Celebrity makeup artist James Vincent included our Metallic Powder among his favorite products during The Makeup Show's blogger preview. As the show's director of education and artistry, his nod means a lot. James wasn't the only artist spreading Mehron love at the show. Orlando Santiago and Bethany Townes both featured our Celebré Pro HD Pressed Powder Palette in their pre-day classes.
And then there's the MANover. Steven London from Conde Nast's The Scene takes the male makeover to the next level. From color correcting to contouring, this makeup guru knows how to put his best face forward - and he uses some popular Mehron products to do it! Singing the praises of our Celebré Pro HD Contour Highlight Palettes, Steven says, "The Mehron family holds it down with literally the best palette in the world."
Inspirational Challenges
Once again we held our 31 Days of Mehron Halloween Instagram Challenge. We received so many amazing submissions it was difficult to choose the daily winners. We're glad it was up to the fans to chose the overall winner! Congratulations to Melissa Morales Giraldo for her winning mystical mermaid makeup and a thank you to everyone who participated.
For our Mehron Love Sick Instagram Challenge we enlisted the help of the talented Jordan Hanz and Alex Faction. This Mehron Girl and Mehron Boy duo, who were the official judges, kicked off the challenge with a fun video, which you can watch below. Congrats to our winner Melvin Lozada for his stunning poetic look.
Halloween Makeup Live Streams
We had a blast working with Elle Magazine and Conde Nast's The Scene alongside makeup artists Daryna Barykina and Shaina Eve creating fun, simple Halloween looks. There were options for everyone - from popular Snapchat filters to mystical creatures and a super villain.
Tips and Techniques
Always wanting to spark inspiration and share the latest how-to's, in 2016 we introduced some new seminars at the trade shows that were instant hits.
Celebrity makeup artist Karla Powell joined Mehron UK at IMATS London. In addition to being at the booth doing demos, Karla taught Texture Make-Up demonstrating one of her most creative looks to date, which was featured on the cover of Make-Up Artist magazine.
MUA Megan Hill Luman taught our class Color Correcting Myths: How to Properly Use the ProColorRing Neutralizing Wheel. So many people cover up skin issues with a skin tone concealer without first correcting. The end result isn't always effective. Megan demonstrated how you can camouflage breakouts, rosacea, sallow tones, and dark circles by applying the correct shade from our ProColorRing Neutralizer.
Blemishes, under eye circles, and discoloration are not limited to women. Men suffer from these skin issues as well. So we partnered with sought after makeup artist Orlando Santiago - who is the best in skin theory using our Celebré Pro HD line and beyond - for the Ultimate Guy Code to Mehron Boy Makeup seminar. Attendees were privy to Orlando's tips on everyday grooming, camouflage, highlighting/contouring, and dramatic guy liner.
Fashion Makeup
Rihanna held her first Fenty X Puma show where she glammed up her streetwear with a bit of Mehron in the models' hair. According to the show's head hairstylist (and Rihanna's personal hairstylist) Yusef Willaims, Rihanna had a very strong idea - she wanted the show to have arctic urban forest hair. So, Yusef had each model wear slicked back hair painted with Mehron's White Liquid Makeup to give an illusion of being frozen in time.
Mehron rocked the runway with Rochambeau at New York Fashion Week: Men's. The duo behind the brand, Joshua Cooper and Laurence Chandler, chose an exotic theme for the SS17 collection. Mehron key makeup artist Collen Runne created a runway look inspired by the 1968 film The Color of Pomegranates to complement the cool, relaxed style of the collection. "The theme is rock n'roll and what I like to call a mix of Mick Jagger, Johnny Depp and Keith Richards in the Moroccan dessert," said Colleen.
The makeup during New York Fashion Week is under the spotlight as much as the designs. It needs to look flawless for the high definition cameras and hold up under the intensity of the lights. To achieve both, three industry pros relied on Mehron products for their shows - particularly our Celebré Pro HD foundations.

To kick off New York Fashion Week, New York Model Management created an amazing video in which fashion and editorial MUA Raul Otero used Celebré Pro HD on all the models.

Tribute to a Legend
This year we lost David Bowie. Tributes to the legend popped up all over social media. Many fans expressed their grief by sharing body painting recreating his iconic looks using Mehron products. We were so inspired we shared the images on our blog. Google must have also been touched by the tributes, as it included some of the images in its Year in Search 2016 video. One of the looks was from Mehron Girl chigusa_artmakeartist. We were honored that Google contacted us about her Instagram post and thrilled to see her work and the works of other artists included in the video. It was a moving way to end the year.

We just got back from IMATS New York. As you can see from the video below of people waiting to get in to Pier 94, the show was packed! Here are some of the top sellers that you might want to get your hands on. Metallic Powders Metallic makeup continues to make waves this season. The winged liner look has become your signature. You've perfected your black flick. Now it's time to kick that look up a notch with one of the latest trends - layered eyeliner. Follow that black wing with a layer of bright color or a cool metallic - or both! The look is popping up all over social media. As Allure magazine said, "It's the latest spin on the graphic eyeliner trend." Once you've mastered the perfect wing, adding on to it is a breeze. We are in love with this triple wing Daryna Barykina created with all Mehron products. It is elegant and edgy at the same time. Get The Look Apply primer, such as Primed Eye Primer , and the shadow you want to use above where the liner will be. Create the lowest wing using Black Detailz . Graphic eyeliner is another one of this season's hot makeup trends that has transferred from the runway to the red carpet to real life. Creative lines in black and bold colors were popular at the latest fashion shows. And celebs are following suit. Emma Watson did a graphic cat eye for her Beauty and the Beast press tour. Zoe Kravitz drew on her own graphic liner for Paris Fashion Week. Lily Collins partied after the Oscars with a negative space wing. The graphic eye comes in many shapes and colors. The trend incorporates everything from straight lines, colorful blocks, and geometric shapes to black and bright hues like orange, green, and blue. One of the easiest ways to create them all is with Paradise Makeup AQ Detailz , which has a fine tip foam applicator that was specifically created for detail work. The rainbow of colors and small applicator will have you on trend in no time with a simple, yet dramatic look! To Create A Negative Space Cat Eye Apply Detailz along your lower la...

Celebrities such as Selena Gomez, Zendaya, Jessica Chastain, Karlie Kloss, and Emily Ratajowski are embracing the hue. It's also a favorite of beauty bloggers and YouTubers. Music festivals are just as much about the makeup as the artists. There is always buzz about what everyone is wearing - and we're not just talking outfits. The festivals bring out the creativity when it comes to beauty. Think bold and out of the box. Coachella is currently in full swing and Instagram is flooded with festival-goer beauty trends. Face/body paint, metallics, and glitter seem to be fan favorites. Mehron's Metallic Powders, Paradise AQ Glitter, and Paradise Makeup AQ make it easy to channel the looks for the remaining days of Coachella, upcoming festivals, or just a night out. As the home page of our website says, "The love of beauty is taste . . . the creation of beauty is art." Inspiration for artistic expression is a strong focus of our Instagram page. We believe makeup to be an artistic platform that enables us to convey a wide range of emotions. With every shade applied, every stroke of the brush, every line draw, we can let our imaginations run wild, our creativity freely flow, as we transform the human canvas into a work of art that evokes emotion and ignites a creative spark. That is the motivation behind each image we feature and share on our Instagram page. If you're looking for a really cool Halloween costume that is all about the makeup, you need to see Desi Perkins' melting skull. This look wraps beauty, body art, and special effects makeup into one AMAZING Halloween look. As PopSugar says, it is the "perfect solution for the beauty aficionado who wants to look on fleek and downright freaky." One side is exposed skull, the other glam that "melts" to reveal the creepy skeleton below. We aren't the only ones loving Desi's creation. Her Instagram video of this look has over 5 million views and the Instagram post with a still photo of the look has over 229,000 likes. The how-to YouTube video has over 1 million views. Last weekend Mehron Girl Nicole Aspradakis did the brand proud at the European Bodypainting Festival, taking 6th place overall. The event, hosted in the picturesque Netherlands, was a summer bodypainting fairy tale. The artists worked outdoors under tents in a beautiful park amid a lush, green landscape. In this open air space, fans could watch over the artists' shoulders as they created their magic. Their art was then presented in a spectacular stage show. Nicole's creations brought powerful messages to life. In Round 1, themed Wonders of Nature, Nicole expressed her concern for ocean life. "I have always lived near the ocean and I admire and adore its powerful and beautiful nature. Unfortunately, it's slowly losing its beauty as it progressively gets more and more polluted and the gorgeous and colorful sea life is extinguished and replace by rubbish. Plastic bottles, cigarette butts, bottle caps, oil spills, the list goes on. It is something I feel very strongly abou...
