Colorize Your Eye Makeup

If your everyday neutral eye makeup is feeling a bit monochrome, it's time to colorize. This is the season for shocks of color. The runways at Fashion Week were bursting with bright hues accenting the eyes. There was forest green shadow at Versus Versace, neon yellow winged liner at Haider Ackerman, orange and red arches at Salvatore Ferragamo,  and bright washes of color across the lids at Ports 1961, Missoni, Boss, Nanette Lapore, and Monique Lhulilier. Color at the spring shows was not intimidating; it was emboldening. Be empowered. Make a statement. Skip the sepia tones for the day - or night - and rock with shocks of color. Colorize with the edgy, bright hues of iNtense PRO Press Powder Pigments. These pigment-rich matte shadows are incredibly silky and super long lasting. Available in a range of intense hues to suit your mood. Embrace opaque color and follow these tips from Mehron makeup artist Pamela Faller for optimal impact.

Keep these tips in mind when applying color

  • One bold element makes more of a statement. Highlight one feature at a time, keeping the rest of your makeup neutral.
  • Blend for a more natural look. Create harsher lines for something bolder and edgier.
  • Don't coordinate with your outfit; complement it.
  • Add color strategically rather than all over the lid.
  • Apply a lighter color for day, then build it darker for night.
  • Use the color as a liner - lower, upper, or winged.
  • Before applying color, prime the eye with Primed Eye Primer. It attracts pigments to the lid like metal to a magnet and prevents creasing and fading.
  • iNtense Pro can also be used for extreme cheeks, a bold brow, and highlights in the hair.
